The Tautuku Forest hunting block is part of the Catlins Conservation Park and offers hunting opportunities for red deer, pigs and goats.

Animals present are red deer, pigs and goats.

General information

This block is part of the Catlins Conservation Park. A significant amount of forest covers the block with areas of kamahi, rata, and mixed podocarp. The terrain is rolling to steep.

Roar period

This block is split into roar blocks for the period 20 March to 20 April.

To apply for the ballot, complete an application form and either post, email or drop it off to the Invercargill office.

  • If you post your application, include credit card or debit card details for payment.
  • If you email your application, phone the Invercargill Office to pay. We cannot accept credit card or debit card details via email.
  • If you visit the Invercargill Office, you can pay by credit card, debit card, EFTPOS or cash.
  • The ballot closes 30 November.

Access

Access is via Rewcastle Road off the Chaslands Highway. The road is suitable for all vehicles to the McLean Falls car park at the road end.
