An easy walk along a track lined with tree fern, miro, mataī and silver beech leads to the broad gravel bed of the Haast River. The aptly named Roaring Billy Falls cascades over a jumble of huge boulders on the other side.
The car park for Roaring Billy Falls is located on the Haast Highway (SH6), 30 km south of Haast township.
The nearest toilet facilities are located at the Pleasant Flat Campsite, 20 km south along SH6.
