General information

Permits are available online as 'Taumarunui Reserves' under the Central North Island hunting block.

Rolling to steep lowland forest.

Access

From State Highway 4, 8km north of Taumarunui turn onto Opotiki Road. This road bisects part of the reserve and carries on as Ararimu East Road, where it borders another part of the reserve. You can access the reserve directly off the road.

Dogs

A separate permit is required to hunt with dogs. All dogs must be avian avoidance certified. Contact the local DOC office for details.
