About this hunting block

Fallow deer, pigs and goats are present in low numbers.

General Information

Permits are available online as 'Whanganui Reserves' under the Central North Island hunting block.

Situated on the true right of the Whanganui River, the forest is podocarp/tawa with scrub hardwood forest at the northern end. The topography is steep but the main spurs are easy to negotiate. Kiwi are known to be present.

The boundaries are not difficult to define and hunters must ensure they stay within the block as none of the adjoining land owners permit hunting.

Access

There is no formed land access to this block, the only access is by boat from the Whanganui River.
