General Information
Permits are available online as 'Taumarunui Reserves' under the Central North Island hunting block.
Lowland forest with tawa and kamahi the dominant canopy species. The understorey consists of tree fern and bracken. The terrain is steep to very steep.
Access
From State Highway 4, turn onto Oio Road south of Owhango. Follow this road and then turn onto Pukeatua Road. The eastern end of the block is adjacent to the road.

Dogs
A separate permit is required to hunt with dogs. All dogs must be avian avoidance certified. Contact the local DOC office for details.
