General Information
Permits are available online as 'Whanganui Forests' under the Central North Island hunting block.
Mixed podocarp forest and scrub with moderate to steep topography. Kiwi are known to be present.
Access
Access by boat from Lake Rotorangi.

Dogs
A separate permit is required to hunt with dogs. All dogs must be avian avoidance certified. Contact the local DOC office for details.
Huts
There are no DOC huts in this reserve.
Additional information
Maintained walkway at Patea dam, no huts, low visitor use.
