Date:  02 December 2014

The Department of Conservation Turangi Field Base will be moving from their current premises on Turanga Place.

The Department wants to reassure the community that it will continue to maintain an office in Turangi, and would like to inform them of interim contact details while new premises are being sought.

DOC Turangi reception will be closed from 10 December 2014 until a date still to be confirmed. DOC Turangi contact details remain the same.

All inquiries regarding public conservation land such as fire and hunting permits, and the Taupō Fishery, can be directed to the DOC Taupō office on +64 7 376 0072 or the DOC hotline 0800 DOC HOT (0800 362 468).

Hunting permits are available online as are fishing licences.

Staff currently working from the Turangi office will be distributed between the Taupō DOC office and the Turangi workshop in the interim.
