Minister of Conservation Hon Kate Wilkinson today announced the appointments to the West Coast Tai Poutini Conservation Board.Date: 23 December 2010
Minister of Conservation Hon Kate Wilkinson today announced the appointments to the West Coast Tai Poutini Conservation Board. “I am pleased to reappoint Clare Backes of Hokitika, Stewart Robertson of Greymouth and Terrence Scott of Oxford to the West Coast Tai Poutini Board”.
Dr Backes is a tourist operator/accommodation provider. Her background is in environmental chemistry and she has formerly been a soil and water researcher. Her outdoor interests are fly fishing and tramping.
Mr Robertson is a retired teacher who is active in a number of community organisations and has extensive committee experience. His outdoor interests are mountaineering and tramping.
Mr Scott has experience in mediation and local government. He is a nominee of Te Runanga o Ngai Tahu. His outdoor interest is hiking.
“I am also pleased to appoint Jane Jones of Westport. She has extensive strategic management, biodiversity and sustainability experience.” Her outdoor interests are walking and gardening.
The Minister thanked the outgoing member Les Wright for his significant contribution to the West Coast Tai Poutini Conservation Board.
