Minister of Conservation Hon Kate Wilkinson today announced the appointments to the Waikato Conservation Board.Date: 23 December 2010
Minister of Conservation Hon Kate Wilkinson today announced the appointments to the Waikato Conservation Board. “I am pleased to reappoint Arthur Hinds of Whitianga and Philippa Wallace of Cambridge to the Waikato Conservation Board”.
Mr Hinds is a dairy farmer and regional councillor. He is a hands-on conservationist and member of Environment Waikato Biosecurity Advisory Subcommittee and Chairman of Whenuakite Kiwi Care Group. His outdoor interests are hunting and fishing.
Ms Wallace is a university lecturer teaching environmental law and resource management. She is involved in an integrated management initiative for North Island west coast harbours and catchments. Her outdoor interests are tramping, kayaking, mountain biking, swimming and surfing.
“I am also pleased to appoint Mark Brough of Aria to the Waikato Conservation Board”. He has been a farmer for over 20 years. Mr Brough is involved in the Environment Waikato Clean Streams Project. His outdoor interests are hunting kayaking and tramping.
The Minister thanked outgoing members Sally Miller for her significant contribution to the Waikato Conservation Board.
