Minister of Conservation Hon Kate Wilkinson today announced the appointments to the East Coast/Bay of Plenty Conservation Board.Date: 23 December 2010
Minister of Conservation Hon Kate Wilkinson today announced the appointments to the East Coast/Bay of Plenty Conservation Board. “I am pleased to reappoint Joe Doherty of Murupara, Ian Pirani of Katikati and Suzanne Williams of Tauranga”.
Mr Doherty is a tourist operator and a self-employed management consultant focused on Maori development. He has extensive experience working with iwi trusts, and in policy analysis and human resources in the public sector. His outdoor interests are hunting, tramping and canoeing.
Mr Pirani is a farmer. His outdoor interests are wild animal and game bird hunting.
Ms Williams has extensive background in environmental and conservation science. She has wide experience and skill in consultation with both iwi and the general public. Her outdoor interests are tramping, biking, snorkelling and camping.
“I am also pleased to appoint Victoria Thorpe of Gisborne”. She is a lawyer with mediation and dispute resolution skills. Her outdoor interests are skiing and fishing.
