Live, laugh, share - volunteer Kia ringa hora: Me mahi tūao
This National Volunteer Week we're celebrating the role volunteering plays in keeping our communities strong and healthy.
Volunteer for conservation
Volunteer for conservation this National Volunteer Week and become part of an active community.
If you only have 15 minutes to spare, you can plant a native tree, pull out pesky weeds or pick up rubbish on the beach.
With more time, you could try out as a hut warden, become a shorebird minder or participate in a bird survey. Volunteering offers the chance to go somewhere different and meet new people.
- Take a look at DOC volunteer activities in your region.
- Get in touch with a community conservation group in your region (more groups can be found on Nature Space).
- Read some of our volunteer stories to get inspired.
See what's possible with a bit of enthusiasm and dedication.
National Volunteer week is coordinated by Volunteering New Zealand.
