General information
The 103 hectare Sunnybrook Scenic Reseve is made up of hill country with dense regenerating bush, as well as prickly hakea and gorse.
Access
Access to the reserve is off State Highway 1 about six kilometres north of Warkworth. A convenient access point is marked on the map provided upon issue of the permit.

Dogs
No dogs, including hunting dogs, are permitted in this reserve.
Hunting
Goats are generally the only animal hunted in this reserve. Animal numbers appear very low, based on hunting returns.
Shotguns, .22 rifles, four-wheel-drive vehicles, motorbikes, quad bikes, horses and dogs are prohibited on DOC managed reserves where hunting is available in the north Auckland area.
No shooting is allowed within 200 metres of walking tracks.
Additional information
- Permits issued online for other North Island 'open' hunting areas are not valid for reserves around Warkworth/North Auckland - hunters must contact the DOC office to apply for a specific permit.
- Take extra care near State Highway 1.
