This report provides an overview and analysis of the decisions arising from the 10th Meeting of the Contracting Parties (COP10) to the Ramsar Convention.

Summary

The Convention on Wetlands of International Importance (known as the Ramsar Convention) aims to achieve conservation and wise use of wetlands globally through local and national actions and international cooperation,within the wider context of sustainable development.

This report provides an overview and analysis of the decisions arising from the 10th Meeting of the Contracting Parties (COP10) to the Ramsar Convention, which was held in Changwon, South Korea from 28 October – 4 November 2008. Three staff (Nicola Scott, Richard Suggate and Hugh Robertson) from the Department of Conservation (DOC) attended the meeting as DOC is the
Administering Authority for the Convention in New Zealand.
