- 6 am – 8 pm from 28 September until 7 April
- 6 am – 6 pm from 8 April until 27 September
Fires are not permitted at any time. See fire rules on conservation land.

Passes
The DOC Campsite Pass can be used at this campsite.
Campsite Pass bookings must be booked online before occupying a site. If you do not pre-book, bookings may be made by campground staff (if present) and will incur a $10 service charge.
Bookings
Bookings are available for three zones (19 sites). For school groups or large group bookings, contact the Wellington Visitor Centre.
A $10 service fee applies to phone and in-person booking. This is a limited service – book online first. An in-person booking is dependent on there being space available.
Your booking will be for a site, which will be allocated or selected on arrival.
South of Wainuiomata follow the Coast Rd for 10 km to the main Remutaka Forest Park entrance. Drive 2.5 km towards the top carpark. In heavy rain you may need to drive across a concreted stream ford.
The gate to the campsite is on the right before the end of the road. The driveway into the campsite is gravel.
This is a 45 minute drive from Wellington city.
