Dog access
Cowshed Bay Campsite is fully open but the facilities in the lower camp are closed.
Camp amongst the native bush on the inland side of the road (no camping on the foreshore as the facilities are closed). Portage is nearby (500m) where there is a bar, restaurant and jetty.
Services
A camp warden is in residence for most of the summer.
Fees
Payment with a DOC Campsite Pass is preferred. Otherwise, pay your fees with cash at the self-registration stand at the campsite or to the camp warden if present. Put the correct fee in the envelope provided and place the receipt section of the envelope on your vehicle or tent.

- Child (5 - 17 years): $7.50 per night

Bookings
It is not possible to book at Cowshed Bay. It is a popular campsite so we recommend you arrive early. There are good alternatives nearby at:
Turn off Queen Charlotte Drive at Linkwater into Kenepuru Road and follow for 28 km. The road is sealed, narrow and winding.

Camp rules
- All groups must include a responsible adult 18+.
- Quiet hours are from 9:30 pm – 6:30 am.
- Generators allowed from 5:30 pm – 7:30 pm only
- Music players must be used with headphones or played at a level not audible to neighbouring campsites.
