Backcountry Hut Passes and Backcountry Hut Tickets cannot be used at this hut.

Before you go, buy 1 Serviced Hut Ticket (green) or 1 Serviced Youth Hut Ticket (red) for each night's stay. Put these in the honesty box at the hut.
Backcountry Hut Passes can be used from 1 May to Labour weekend (late October).
A $10 service fee applies to phone and in-person booking. This is a limited service – book online first. An in-person booking is dependent on there being space available.

- SH6 (Hasst Highway) via Gillespie Pass Circuit: 6– 7 hr (20 km)
- Siberia Hut via Gillespie Pass Circuit: 6– 8 hr (12 km)

Full huts during peak season
This hut, along with other huts in the region, is popular with trampers from December until after Easter. We recommended you carry a tent or roll mat when tramping during this period.
Camping is not allowed around Young Hut
The cleared area is a helicopter landing site.
