This is one of two DOC campsites and three DOC huts on the Routeburn Track. This campsite has a nice view of the Route Burn valley.

In the Great Walks season (15 November 2024 – 30 April 2025)
New Zealand citizens and those ordinarily resident in New Zealand:
- Adult (18+ years): $25 per person, per night
- Child (5 to 17 years): $12 per person, per night
International visitors:
- Adult (18+ years): $38 per person, per night
- Child (0 to 17 years): $19 per person, per night
Proof of eligibility is required for the New Zealand rate.
Outside the Great Walks season (1 May 2024 – 28 October 2024)
For all visitors:
- Adult (18+ years): $10 per person, per night
- Child (5 to 17 years): $5 per person, per night
The DOC Campsite Pass cannot be used at this campsite.

This campsite is in the Route Burn valley, on the Routeburn Track in Mt Aspiring National Park. It is about 1.5 – 2 hours walk from the Routeburn Shelter (road end).

Duration: 2-4 days Difficulty: Intermediate, Advanced, Expert
The use of hut facilities by campers is not permitted. You must carry your own tent, sleeping bag, cooking gear etc.
A resident DOC ranger is stationed at the nearby hut (in the Great Walks season) and will check your tickets, pass on information about the environment and weather, or help you out should an emergency arise.
Choosing a safe tent site
For your safety we recommend not camping under the trees at this campsite.
