Located in Mimiwhangata Coastal Park in the Northland region

Self-contained, comfortable accommodation beside Northland's beautiful Okupe Beach. Sleeps 7.

Facilities

  • 2.5 bedrooms with a set of bunks off the dining room, a queen bed in one room and a double with single in the other room
  • Mattresses are provided but you will need to take your own linen
  • Electric lighting
  • Full kitchen, electric cooking, BBQ
  • Wood fire (wood provided 20 May – 1 October)
  • Hot shower and flush toilet

Per week Friday to Thursday (sole occupancy)

  • Peak (1 December – 8 February): $1,701 
  • Shoulder (19 October – 30 November, 9 February –  7 June): $700
  • Off-peak: (8 June – 18 October): $434

Bookings

Bookings are open for stays up to 30 June 2025.

All bookings are first-come first-served. We do not have waiting lists for bookings for future seasons or facilities that are already booked-out.

Bookings are required all year.

A $10 service fee applies to phone and in-person booking. This is a limited service – book online first. An in-person booking is dependent on there being space available.

Mimiwhangata Coastal Park. 48 km north of Whangārei or 52 km south of Russell. Exit SH 1 near Whakapara onto Russell Rd then right onto Webb Rd. The last section of road is unsealed, narrow and winding.

  • Check in after 4 pm Friday, check out before 10 am the following Friday
  • Camping is not permitted near accommodation
  • No boat launching, only hand-launched dinghies
  • No cellphone coverage
  • No television / radios provided
  • No pets – including dogs, birds or cats
  • Northland reserve bylaws apply to Mimiwhangata Scenic Reserve 
  • Bring your own rubbish bags.
  • Take away all your rubbish and recycling. 
  • Read the Mimiwhangata Marine Park Regulations.

Mimiwhangata is a great place for beach activities such as swimming, snorkelling, picnicking or just relaxing.
