Facilities
- Hot showers for campers only. These need a $1 coin.
- Washing machines and driers for campers only. Coin operated
- Wheelchair accessible shower and toilet blocks.
- Communal kitchen with jug, toaster, microwave, electric hob, fridge, freezer. Bring your own BBQ, pots, pans, crockery and cutlery.
- Playground on the foreshore.
- Boats can be launched from the beach. The nearest boat ramp is 4 km at Ngakuta Bay.
Cabins
Cabins are very basic and are 3 m X 3 m. These space for two cars to park in front of each one.
These sleep 3 people in a bunk with double bed at the bottom and a single bed above. Power and oil heater in room.
Use communal shower/toilets and kitchen facilities. Bring own linen, pillow, towel, cooking and eating utensils. $60 per night for up to 3 people.

- On-site shop open daily from Labour weekend to Easter for icecream, coffee, cake, newspapers, bread, milk, ice, meat, fish bait, fishing tackle, and fish and chips.

Passes
The DOC Campsite Pass can be used at this campsite except between 26 December to 8 February inclusive.
Cabins at this campsite cannot be booked using a DOC Campsite Pass.
The DOC Backcountry Hut Pass is not applicable at this campsite.
Campsite Pass bookings must be booked online before occupying a site. If you do not pre-book, bookings may be made by campground staff (if present) and will incur a $10 service charge.
Bookings
Bookings are open for stays up to 30 June 2023.
2023/24 bookings
Bookings for 1 July 2023 – 30 June 2024 will open in 2023. The opening date will be announced on this page in late March 2023.
All bookings operate on a first-come first-served basis. We do not operate waiting lists for bookings for future seasons, or currently booked-out facilities.
Bookings are required all year. Book well in advance for the peak period from 1 December - 28 February and for public holiday weekends.
A $10 service fee applies to phone and in-person booking. This is a limited service – book online first. An in-person booking is dependent on there being space available.
Email bookings are not available for this campsite.
A minimum 4-night stay applies from 27 December to 5 January. A minimum site charge of 2 adults applies from 27 December to 11 January.
The campsite is at 1998 Queen Charlotte Drive. This is 13 km from Picton or 17 km from Havelock along Queen Charlotte Drive, on the Grove Arm of Queen Charlotte Sound.
Vehicles over 12.6 m long, including any trailers, are not allowed on Queen Charlotte Drive due to it being a narrow and winding road.
Check the Marlborough District Council website and the Waka Kotahi/NZTA site for current road conditions prior to departure. Drivers can expect speed restrictions, traffic signal controls, one-way sections and ongoing roadworks at any time.

- No pets, chainsaws, generators or compressors allowed.
- All groups must include a responsible adult 18 plus.
Check-in and office hours
Check-in is from 2 pm, and check-out is by 10 am. These hours enable our camp managers to maintain the sites and keep the camp clean. Plan your arrival and departure around these times.
Office hours are from 8 am to 8 pm from Labour Weekend to Easter. Hours are 8 to 9 am and 2 to 8 pm otherwise. You need to ring the doorbell.
Motorhome and caravans
All caravans and campervans that require power must have a current Electrical Warrant of Fitness (WOF), which will be checked on arrival. If your Electrical WOF is not current you won't be allowed to connect to power.
There is no dump station at this site
The nearest dump stations are 13 km away in Picton, at the NPD Picton Fuelstop and GAS Petrol Service Station. There are also dump stations at the Mobil in both Havelock and Blenheim.

Water safety
The stream through the camp is not fenced. Take extra care if you have small children.
