Acheron Road is open 7 am – 7 pm daily from 1 October to Easter Monday or the second Monday in April – whichever is later. It can close without warning.
Fires are not allowed at any time. See fire rules on conservation land.

Passes
The DOC Campsite Pass can be used at this campsite.
Campsite Pass bookings must be booked online before occupying a site. If you do not book, bookings may be made by campground staff (if present) and will incur a $10 service charge. Sites may not be available if you do not book.
Bookings
Bookings for 1 October 2026 to 12 April 2027 open at 12 noon on Friday 15 May 2026.
- If no availability shows online for your dates, the campsite is fully booked.
- No spaces are kept for campers arriving without a booking.
- Phone and in‑person bookings made at a visitor centre incur a $10 service fee.
- Same‑day bookings are available online until 8 pm if spaces remain.

Take the Clarence Valley Road from Hanmer Springs (via Jacks Pass Road). Turn right onto Tophouse Road, this becomes the Acheron Road. Continue for 17 km to then cross the Clarence River and into the campsite.
Note: vehicle access to Acheron Campsite is not available when the Acheron Road is closed (chain across bridge).
