Starting at Southend Reserve, the track has a short uphill climb before branching off into a loop. 

The Pauanui Trig Track is a side trip off the loop (to the right) or continue around the loop back to the start.

The track takes you under some large pohutakawa and kohekohe trees and has view over Pauanui beach.

There is a car park at Southend Reserve at the end of Pauanui Beach Road in Pauanui.
