Kea can cause damage
Kea, the native alpine parrot, are present in this area. They are curious birds and can cause damage to tents and other gear. Guard your gear to avoid damage or loss.
The risk from kea is higher in Arthur's Pass Village than at any of our other sites, as it is frequented by gangs of juvenile birds.
