About this hunting block
General information
This block is part of the Silverpeaks Scenic Reserve and lies north of Dunedin.
Silverpeaks is steep to rolling country and very exposed in places. A significant amount of silver beech/tahina, broadleaf and kānuka covers the area to the east, while the western side is snow tussock with some small pockets of silver beech/tahina.
Access
Access is via State Highway One north of Dunedin. Turn left just after Waitati onto Double Hill Road, which becomes Semple Road and then Steep Hill Road. The access point shares the car park with the Silverpeaks Circuit Track.
Logging trucks frequently use this road. Drive with your lights on, keep to the left, and drive to the conditions.

Dogs
Dogs are allowed in this block with a hunting permit. If accessing the block over private land, you must have landholder permission to take your dog.
Fire
Fires are not permitted in Silverpeaks Scenic Reserve at any time. Fire could destroy this special place in a matter of hours. Fires put you and others at risk.
