Starting from the Moanataiari Creek Road end, this track follows Moanataiari Stream for approximately 500 m then heads up over a ridge. At the top of the ridge there is a short side track to a lookout above Thames with expansive views of the Firth of Thames and the Hauraki Plains.

The track then continues to link with the Waiotahi Track. From the Waiotahi Track there are multiple options to form a loop back to Thames. This can be done via the Rocky’s to Waiotahi Track, Waiotahi Track or the Karaka Track. Or keen trampers can head up to Crosbies Hut (5 hr).

This track starts from the end of Moanataiari Creek road in Thames, and after approximately 1.5 km or 30 minutes it joins the Waiotahi Track.
