Located in Coromandel Forest Park and Kauaeranga Valley in the Coromandel region

Introduction
Walk through regenerating forest and along the river flats.Ford the main Kauaeranga River and walk along river flats and through regenerating forest. The walking track finishes on the opposite side of the river from Catleys Campsite.
The Kauaeranga Valley is east of Thames on the Coromandel Peninsula.
Stay safe when crossing rivers
If you plan to cross unbridged rivers, know how to cross safely and be prepared for if you cannot cross.
Do not cross if the river is flooded, you cannot find safe entry and exit points or are unsure it’s safe. Turn back or wait for the river to drop. If in doubt, stay out.
