Te Rereatukahia Hut

Located in Kaimai Mamaku Conservation Park in the Bay of Plenty region

This is a serviced 12-bunk hut in the Bay of Plenty region. The hut must be booked online in advance.

Te Rereatukahia Hut is maintained by the Kaimai Ridgeway Trust volunteers for the benefit of all.

The hut fees received are used directly by KRT for maintenance of the hut and other Kaimai backcountry facilities.

Play your part - pay your hut fees and keep the hut and surrounding area clean, tidy and free of rubbish.

There is space to camp outside the hut. If you do camp, Kaimai Ridgeway Trust would be grateful if you made a donation towards their maintenance costs.

Firewood

Firewood is only provided during winter months, from April to October.

Fees

  • Adult (18+ years): $25 per night
  • Youth (5–17 years): $12.50 per night
  • Child/Infant (0–4 years): free

Bookings

Bookings for the 2026/27 season open at 12 noon on Tuesday 12 May 2026.  

  • If no availability shows online for your dates, the hut is fully booked.
  • No spaces are kept for visitors arriving without a booking.
  • Phone and in‑person bookings made at a visitor centre incur a $10 service fee.
  • Same‑day bookings are available online until 8 pm if spaces remain.

Bookings are required all year.
