This is a historic ex musters hut at an altitude of approximately 600 m.
The water source is from the stream behind the hut. Boil the water before you use.
The hut is 6 km from Mt Nicholas Road.
It is possible to drive to the hut, but you must get a key from the Fiordland DOC Visitor Centre before you go. For the gate key visitors must register their details, trip intentions, and pay a cash bond at the visitor centre.

The access track requires a stream crossing
There is a stream to cross with 4WD before the hut. After high rainfall this may difficult to cross and the ground can be soft.
