Summary

View the Department of Conservation's Annual Report/ Pūrongo-ā-tau for the year ended 30 June 2026. The report will be presented to the House of Representatives once Parliament is established following the election in November 2026. As with previous years, the report reviews the operations of the Department of Conservation.   

The 2025/26 Annual Report is the first year of reporting against the department’s Strategic Intentions 2025–2029. These strategic intentions reflect our strategic direction (PDF, 94K), the Government’s priorities and DOC’s upcoming integrated performance framework.

The performance framework places more focus on reporting on our impacts on conservation, as we transition away from reporting mostly on our outputs.
