Holdsworth area

Located in Tararua Forest Park in the Wairarapa region

Holdsworth is the main entrance to the eastern side of Tararua Forest Park. It offers camping, a lodge, picnic facilities, swimming in Atiwhakatu Stream and a range of walks.

2 km south of Masterton, turn off SH2 into Norfolk Road, which turns into Mt Holdsworth Road. Follow signs to Tararua Forest Park, about 15 km from SH2.

There is a daily rail connection and regular bus service between Wellington and Masterton (17 km from Holdsworth). Taxis or, for large parties, pre-booked buses, can be hired for travel between Masterton and Holdsworth.
