IntroductionCobb Hostel, located at the bottom end of the Cobb Reservoir, is available from October to April dependant on weather conditions. Rental is for the whole building.

It was previously a hostel for Cobb Dam workers. It is a great base to explore the local area from.
Rental is for the whole building, so you will not have to share it with other users.

38 km from Upper Takaka into Cobb Valley, Kahurangi National Park. The road is unsealed, narrow and winding.
Follow Cobb Dam Road all the way to the Cobb Reservoir. Just before you arrive at the reservoir the Cobb Hostel is the first house on your right. It is signposted.

- Water in the house is untreated and is from a nearby small stream.
- Wasps and bumble bees can be an issue especially from February to May.
There are excellent tramping, fishing, hunting and botanising opportunities in the area.
