Gordon Park Loop Track

Located in Gordon Park Scenic Reserve in the Manawatu/Whanganui region

This flat and well-formed track passes through native podocarp-hardwood forest and has a variety of birds - with a picnic table at the start, it's a good option for families.

This wheelchair and buggy accessible short loop track is a great introduction to bushwalking.

There is a car park and picnic table at the start of the track.

Gordon Park Scenic Reserve is located on the corner of Kaimatira Road and No.3 Line Whanganui East. The car park is accessible of Kaimatira Road.

Lighting fires and camping are not allowed in the reserve.

The walk passes through species such as matai, tōtara, titoki, tawa, kowhai and kahikatea.

Birds such as fantail, tui, bellbird, kereru, grey warblers and also shining cuckoo in season have made this area their permanent home, along with visitors such as pukeko, fernbird, bittern and grey duck can also be seen in the area.
