Introduction

Find out about changes that might affect the safety or enjoyment of your trip into conservation areas in the Manawatu/Whanganui region.

Highlights

Staying in huts and campsites and using toilets

  • Hut capacity varies from 10 people to 50% of the hut's usual full capacity.
  • Take a tent to non-bookable huts in case the hut is at capacity.
  • You are responsible for your own health and hygiene – take your own cleaning equipment. Leave facilities clean and fit for use by others.
  • Practise physical distancing – stay 2 metres away from people you don’t know.
  • Enable contact tracing – tell someone before you go.
