Red Stag Hut

Located in Te Kahui Kaupeka Conservation Park in the Canterbury region

This is a basic four-bunk hut in the Aoraki/Mount Cook area.

This hut is owned and maintained by the South Canterbury branch of New Zealand Deerstalkers' Association. 

Fees

A recommended donation of $5 per person per night can be made at the hut or through the NZDA, South Canterbury Branch.

Donations assist NZDA with the costs of maintaining this hut.

The Godley river 4WD route has been destroyed by the river which has moved to the true left above Sibbald Island.

Vehicle travel beyond this point is at your own risk and may involve fording one or more braids of the river. It should not be attempted unless you are capable of self recovery.
