  • Adult (18+ years): $10 per night
  • Youth (5–17 years): $5 per night
  • Child/Infant (0–4 years): free

Before you go, buy 1 Standard Hut Ticket (blue for adults, yellow for youth) for each night's stay. Or buy a Backcountry Hut Pass that gives unlimited use at most Standard and Serviced huts for a 12 month period.

Maitland Hut is 4 hours (10 km) from Lake Ohau Road. Permission is required from Lake Ohau Station (+64 27 458 4025) to walk across the private land at the start of the Maitland Track.

In a very heavy snowfall season the avalanche path adjacent to Maitland hut could over fill and advance as far as the hut. Avoid the hut during these times.
