King Hill Reserve Walking Track

Located in Mokaihaha Ecological Area in the Bay of Plenty region

This is an easy family friendly walk through native trees and plants in the Mamaku Scenic Reserve.

The track is a flat, well-defined track through tawa and rimu trees. The track is connected to a historic mining site and historic pipes are still visible today.

Mamaku is a 20 min drive from Rotorua via SH5 and Dansey Road.

Dansey Road becomes Tarena Street once in Mamaku. Use Mauku Street or South Road to cross the railway line. Turn into Mamaku Street. From Mamaku Street, the walk can be accessed from either Karamu Street or Old State Mill Road. Both entrances have signs. Park on the side of the road.

The track is known to be muddy after heavy rain. There are no picnic tables or toilets at the reserve.
