This two-room 16 bunk hut has separate dining/living space. The small clearing outside the hut is suitable for camping.

- Youth (5–17 years): $7.50 per night

The quickest way to the hut is from the end of Franklin Road; following the Waitawheta Tramway Track south and then turning west at the junction with the Dalys Clearing Loop Track.
It is situated en route to Mount Te Aroha or as a short side trip en route to the head of the Waitawheta Valley.
