Te Ao Māori case studies

These three case studies highlight some of the key benefits and aspirations achieved through funding iwi-led and Māori-led projects, including opportunities for exercising rangatiratanga and kaitiakitanga.

Mouri Tūroa - Ngā Tāngata Tiaki o Whanganui

This was a four-year restoration project to mitigate soil erosion, improve freshwater quality and enhance biodiversity of Te Awa Tupua. The case study brings together the kōrero of Mouri Tūroa demonstrating the collective reach of the project across people, place, and practice.

Raukūmara Pae Maunga - Ngāti Porou and Te Whānau-ā-Apanui

Raukūmara Pae Maunga is a partnership to strengthen cultural connections with the Raukūmara and complete large-scale pest control operations. The kōrero of RPM has been collected in this case study to highlight project outcomes that are evident far beyond environmental or conservation metrics.
