Department of Conservation (DOC) South Marlborough Senior Heritage and Visitors Ranger James Gilmour is encouraging people to get in early to make bookings for Marfells Beach Campsite, particularly for stays around Christmas and peak holiday periods.
“We now expect people to make advance online bookings to stay at Marfells Beach Campsite from 1 December to 30 April. Being able to book and pay in advance, gives people assurance their camping site is sorted and secured for when they want to stay.
“Having booked in advance means people won’t turn up to find the campsite already full, which can happen during busy holiday periods,” Gilmour says.
Book Marfells Beach Campsite online.
Information about the campsite and other DOC places to visit and stay can be found on the DOC website: Marfells Beach Campsite.
Bookings are not required for Marfells Beach Campsite from 1 May to 30 November. During this period, campers can register on arrival at the campsite and pay the fee into an iron ranger.
Those planning camping holidays at Marlborough DOC sites are reminded that online bookings should be made in advance for a number of other campsites. These are Momorangi, Pelorus Bridge, Whatamango Bay, Kenepuru Heads and French Pass campsites, and also Nydia Lodge, with bookings required year-round at all these sites.
