Four times a year: Volunteer to update Urban Nature engagement panels at a range of sites around Dunedin.

Description

Urban Nature is a program DOC runs to engage people across Dunedin with some of the rare and interesting natural phenomena and insights that happen around the city. This is done through information panels in key public locations that provide insight into these natural processes.

The volunteer work involves changing and maintaining these panels at each change of season throughout the year.

What to expect

Fitness/skill level

Low to medium fitness. The panel locations are designed to be accessible, but some locations will require carrying the panels a short distance. The panels are swapped using spanners and socket wrench.

Accommodation

This is not provided.

Location

Volunteer will need to have access to their own vehicle for driving to various sites around Dunedin. Fuel will be compensated.

Contribution towards food and transport

There is no charge for this activity. DOC will provide appropriate compensation for fuel usage.

Note that this volunteer work occurs four times per year, and as such there may be limited opportunity depending on current volunteer numbers.

We will shortlist based on availability of the role. We’ll contact shortlisted applicants then arrange an interview.
