Summary of proposal

The application is for occupation and use of an area within Kaiteriteri Recreation Reserve measuring approximately 0.04 hectares on the south-eastern corner of the Kaiteriteri Mountain Bike Park carpark. The applicant wishes to use the area to establish and operate a mountain bike storage and rental business. The activity includes: 

  • placement of two movable 20’ shipping containers
  • construction of a temporary wooden deck with cover/roof
  • location of a removable Port-a-loo toilet facility
  • location of a water tank facility
  • exclusive use of 10 existing carparks
  • location and use of power generation equipment
  • location of rubbish bins.

The Minister of Conservation has made no determination regarding the suitability of this proposed concession on public conservation land.  This public notification should not be interpreted as an intention on the part of the Minister of Conservation to grant the proposed concession.
