What to include in your CV
- Contact details – Your full name, address, phone number and email address.
- Key skills – List your work-related skills and abilities relevant to the job you’re applying for.
- Capability areas – Look at the required competencies in the role description and, where possible, provide evidence of how you’ve demonstrated them.
- Education and qualifications – List the institution names, qualifications and attendance dates in reverse order. Include any relevant courses.
- Work experience – List your most recent position first (including voluntary or community work). Give the name and location of each employer, your position title and the time you spent in the position. Identify key responsibilities, experience, skills and achievements relevant to the job you’re applying for.
- Referees (optional) – If you’d rather not provide referees in your CV, bring the names to the interview or provide them when requested. We require three referees who can speak about your work and/or community involvement. At least one referee must be your most recent manager. Give their name, phone number, position, company and relationship to you. Check that your referees are happy to be contacted.
Write a cover letter
Your cover letter should explain why you want the job and what you can offer the employer.
