SPREAD THE WORD
9 out of 10 Kiwis think nature’s doing okay. Who do you know who needs a wake-up call?
Sharing what you’re doing for nature is one of the best ways to encourage others to act.

WHAT YOU
CAN DO
-
Follow DOC on Instagram or Facebook to bring a voice for nature into your daily life. Help build the movement – share a reel, tag a friend.
-
Got a mate who needs a bit of naturing? Next time you’re doing something in or for nature, bring them along. Connecting with nature is the first step towards becoming an active guardian of it.
-
Wherever you are and whoever you’re talking with, spread the word that nature needs our help.
GET THE WHĀNAU INVOLVED
No one’s too young or too old to get naturing. Share your values and knowledge with tamariki and mokopuna. Kids who learn to love nature will become the conservationists of the future.
HOW YOU'LL
MAKE A DIFFERENCE
New Zealand, we have a perception problem. According to DOC research, 89% of Kiwis think nature’s doing okay. The facts tell a different story. Our native species and ecosystems are in serious trouble.
Two of the most common things stopping people from acting for nature are:
- knowing nature is in trouble
- knowing what to do about it.
Spread the word that nature needs our help, and share how you’re doing your bit.
ARE YOU IN?
It takes everyone to make a difference for nature. Every little bit helps.
READY TO DO MORE?
- Have your say on issues DOC is consulting on. They include important plans for nature.
- If you’re already involved in a conservation project, consider organising an event for Conservation Week. It’s a great way to inspire more people to get involved.
NATURE'S IN
TROUBLE
Thousands of our native species are heading towards extinction, but it’s not too late to save them.
All around New Zealand, Kiwis are bringing nature back.
