About this hunting block

Location

Cameron Hut is located on the south-western Kaweka Forest Park Boundary on the banks of the Ngaruroro River.

Access

Hunters visiting the Cameron area will be seeking bush/creek hunting with adjoining open clay pan and scree tops. Much of the terrain is steep. Early morning or late evening hunts are the most productive in and around the stream gullies just out of the main river.

Making the best use of the track when planning a hunting adventure will help ensure a safe and easy return.

Dogs

Only registered, avian aversion certified hunting dogs, guide dogs, companion dogs (certified by the Top Dog Companion Trust) and dogs used for special services (including conservation management activities) are permitted in the park. All other dogs are banned.
