Sustainablity work on Mana and Kapiti Islands
The conservation work on Mana Island Scientific Reserve has included a massive replanting effort, the eradication of mice and the building of a "concrete gannet colony".
There are signs of human occupation of Mana dating back to the 14th century.
Mana Island lies 3km off the Wellington west coast and has been free of all introduced mammals since mice were eradicated in 1989.
