Holdsworth campsite

Alert/Important notice

The track from Holdsworth campsite to Atiwhakatu Hut sustained some damage during bad weather in March 2012.

A bridge has been washed away and another one damaged. Walkers are advised to proceed with caution as this track may become inpassable if streams and rivers become swollen.

Holdsworth campsite

At the eastern entrance to the park beneath the Tararua Ranges. Enjoy walks, fishing and swimming nearby. There are also grassed areas for sports.

Holdsworth Lodge provides accommodation for 28 (bookings required).

Location

Mount Holdsworth Rd, 15 km west of Masterton

Getting there

2 km south of Masterton, turn off SH 2 at signpost to Mt Holdsworth, Norfolk Rd. Drive along road into Mount Holdsworth Rd. The campsite is 15 km from SH turnoff.

  • Dogs permitted. Must be on a leash at all times.

  • Be aware of fire bans and a higher fire risk during mid to late summer.
