Introduction

Terms and Conditions for the Taupō fishing licence photo competition 2024.

The Promoter is: Department of Conservation at 37 Motutaiko Street Taupō.

Employees of the Promoter, their family members or any associated agency or company (or employees of same) connected in any way with promoting the competition shall not be eligible to participate in the competition.

There is no entry fee. Submitting a photograph to the promoted email address enters you into this competition. Entrants can submit multiple entries – up to five. Details of the competition can be found on the DOC website. There is no other way to enter this competition.

Closing date for the competition is midnight on 19 May 2024, after this date no further entries to the competition will be considered by the Promoter. The winner/s will be notified by the Promoter by email within five working days of the closing date. If the winner/s cannot be contacted or do not claim the prize within 14 days of notification, the Promoter reserves the right to pick an alternative winner or winners from the entries received.

Entries

  1. Photographs must have been taken by the entrant and free of copyright restrictions.
  2. Up to five photographs per entry.
  3. The Promoter reserves the right to use any photographs entered in the competition to promote the Taupō Trout fishery – where appropriate the Promoter will acknowledge the photographer involved.

The competition winners

  1. The winner/s will be chosen by a panel of judges.
  2. There will be between one and seven winners depending on the suitability of the photographs.
  3. The winning photographs will appear on various categories of the Taupō Trout Fishing License.
  4. The judge’s decision will be final, and no correspondence will be entered into.
  5. If submitted photographs are not of a sufficiently high quality the Promoter reserves the right to use alternative images on the cover of licences.

The competition prize

  1. The winner/s will have the opportunity to choose a Taupō fishing licence of their choice.
  2. Where a single entry has multiple winning photographs, they will be entitled to a single prize.

The prizes are not transferrable for cash, credit, other goods, or services offered by the Promoter. The Promoter reserves the right to substitute any prize with another of equivalent value without prior notice.

The promoter’s decision in respect of all matters related to the competition will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.

The winner/s agrees to the use of his/her name and image in any publicity material used by the Promoter. Any personal data relating to the winner or any other entrants will be used solely in accordance with current data protection legislation and will not be disclosed to a third party without the entrant’s prior consent. Your personal information provided will be used in conjunction with the Promoter's Privacy Policies.

Entry into the competition will be deemed as acceptance of these terms and conditions. The competition and these Terms and Conditions are governed by New Zealand Law.

This promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with any third party.

If for any reason this competition cannot run as planned, due to any cause beyond the control of the Promoter which corrupts or affects the administration security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this competition, the promotion may be discontinued at the entire discretion of the Promoter. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for such an event.

The Promoter and its associated agencies and companies shall not be liable for any loss or damage suffered (including but not limited to indirect or consequential loss) claimed or sustained, as a result of participating in this competition except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law.
