Introduction

Students are taken through a comprehensive timeline of human groups and their activities in the area. This presentation is designed to directly align with achievement standard 2.1.

There is a focus on human perceptions and use of, and impacts on, the natural landscape.

The key impacts and different land uses are documented via historic photos, and students are encouraged to recognise that the conflict between human activity and conservation needs ongoing management.
