For this round of price reviews, DOC has focused primarily on campsites while reviewing price performance in a targeted group of other facilities, including several high demand huts and cottages, and some Great Walks.
Prices on our website and booking system are up-to-date. However, note that signs at some of DOC’s facilities are still in the process of being updated.
Campsite prices
Campsite prices were reviewed by category, occupancy, and seasonal demand. This included benchmarking against other campsites, consideration of changes in the CPI, and forecasting of impacts on demand and revenue.

The prices of 79 higher occupancy standard campsites have increased between $3-$5, while five of our seven serviced campsites have had similar increases. Seasonal price changes have been applied to 12 campsites.
Standard high demand campsites have price changes as follows:
- From $15 in 24/25 to $20 in 25/26 (4 campsites)
- From $15 in 24/25 to $18 in 25/26 (47 campsites)
- From $10 in 24/25 to $15 in 25/26 (28 campsites)

Price increase and changes to the Campsite Pass
DOC increased the price of the Campsite Pass on 1 July 2025. The 30-night pass option has been discontinued.

Other facility prices
Along with campsites, this year we reviewed some of our top performing facilities, including Great Walks, high demand huts and sole occupancy accommodation.
Fees for five Great Walk huts and campsites have been increased. Four high demand huts also have price increases, as have 11 lodges and cottages.
The five Great Walks where facility prices have been increased (5-15%) are the Abel Tasman, Kepler, Milford, Paparoa and Routeburn Tracks.
