RUG is a group of people specifically interested in keeping up-to-date with recreation on Canterbury public conservation lands

Representatives from various clubs and groups meet three times a year with DOC staff to get updates on tracks, huts and other facilities, and to provide feedback.

The clubs include tramping and walking groups, alpine clubs, some hunters, 4x4 drivers, horse riders, mountain bikers and any other person that uses public conservation land for their recreation. All are welcome to attend.
