Huts

This block has a Rakiura Hunters Camp Trust (RHCT) hut. Use this hut to minimise any impact on the wider environment.

These huts are designed for hunters. They provide shelter and basic amenities. 

You need to book the hut through the Rakiura Visitor Centre (contact details below) and pay RHCT hut levies.

Access

Hunting blocks can be accessed by sea or air. You need to organise your own transport to and from the block. We recommend learning about transport options before you apply. Visit the Stewart Island website for more information.

Dogs

Dogs are not allowed as this block is within a national park.

Possum hunting

To trap possums on this block you need both a restricted hunting permit and a possum trapping permit. Get a possum trapping permit by emailing stewartisland@doc.govt.nz
